My Opinion on "Costume" Jewelry

Why hello there people of earth. Before I start my mini rant please check out all this jewelry I bought on Friday downtown:

This seems like it could have cost a lot, but I got all of this for only $20 - which brings me to my point, why are people spending so much money on costume or "gold plated" brass jewelry. Yes, I have spent a good chunk of change on precious jewelry that I wear everyday seen here, but I refuse to spend over $2.00 on something that will break. All the pieces seen here are $1.50 or under. It is so easy to find affordable and cute pieces in larger cities. I buy this jewelry from a convenience store and food market - you just have to look. Also, online many Chinese suppliers offer good pieces and you do not have to buy in bulk. I have not bought anything yet from Banggood.com but they have great reviews and good pieces on things like this.

I bought mostly bracelets because I need things to stack with my MK watch ^__^ (Which isn't real gold I know, I just got a discount so I bought the watch)

These are hauls I got a while back too...

Asia-Fashion-Wholesale.com Review

So I forgot to post this review here a long time ago, a year, but here is a review of asia-fashion-wholesale.com! It has over 9,000 views :)

P.S.  I am 140lbs now, but that doesn't really matter now haha.

How to get a Longer/Fuller Ponytail

Do you have thin hair? Or maybe you just want a majestic pony tail like this one:

Don't worry! Don't go out and buy one of those fake pony pieces... Watch how easy it really is!

Check it out, just make TWO ponys. Who knew? Separate your hair layers and then stretch the top pony tail around the bottom one!

If you do this correctly no one can tell that its two from the side! And you are cheating with your REAL hair!

Just did a photoshoot! (I'm back...again...)

Hello followers,

So sorry for the hiatus. I've been working hard on my degree and it turns out music is hard. Who knew?!
Anyways so a lot in my life has changed since you last heard from me, I am now a upper class-men, I have a new boyfriend, and I lost 20 LBS by becoming a vegetarian. Whew...

Honestly as 2013 wraps up all can I really say is that I am finally happy. I am were I need to be (: So in honor of my blog "re-opening" I am going to share some neat photographs. Credit goes out to JAFotography so please like this page, and don't steal em (duh!!)

I've decided to take my blog another route. It mainly going to stay fashion, diy, whatever - but I want to become more rounded, to include a lot more topics, even food. I love food.... Honestly, I don't want my blog to be just one genre. Also, I am going to try to apply to model to celebrate my new body (: wish me luck!!

Please like my two new looks based off these photographs on LOOKBOOK.NU:

And here are other pictures I would like to share with you of me:

DIY Embellished Sweatshirt

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been posted much.
School has really gotten in the way and my blog hasn't seen much love.

So here's a little throwback from the winter!

In the States, cheap sweatshirts are everywhere. Every-time they are on sale at places like Walmart or Target I just cannot pass them up. $2 bucks for a Hanes super soft sweatshirt?! YEAH ILL BUY IT.

Only problem is - I have so many. And I love to wear them in the winter, but they are so boring... and I look like I didn't even try. The Solution? An easy DIY thats cheap, cute and only requires a little bit of sewing knowledge.

All you need is a needle and thread, sew-able (with holes) acrylic gems, and a sweatshirt! Just sew on any design you want! Here are some pictures of my process. I just did a simple design around the collar...its not every symmetrical - but who cares! its MY sweatshirt!

And the finished product, as shown on a picture from my Instagram! Follow me! @omglani

DIY - Hair Chain

Hey guys,

Sorry, I know I have been doing so many DIYS, but since I am still on holiday from school I decided to take advantage and make a bunch of stuff I have been wanted to make.

I love hair chains, but like this one from Urban Outfitters, but for about $3 bucks I can make my own!
Luckily, I already owned the tools you will need. Here is what you will need to make your own:

  • Chain of any color, I choose a kind of white gold color.
  • Jump rings, just make sure they can go through the chain of your choice.
  • Jump nose pliers and wire cutters.

These are the tools I used. I felt like I needed an other pliers to work with the jump rings.

First take the chain and wrap around your head. Cut the length of chain you need and attach with a jump ring. I used a double jump ring for the back, but you could use a regular one.

So the next step is to cut a length of chain to go over your head like so. Attach to the first jump hoop and add a new jump to the middle of the front. I recommend when attaching this piece to the back jump hoop to take out the outer chain and put the middle piece in, then replace the outer chain so you don't have a tangled mess. I hope this makes sense! You can stop here if you like.

I decided to add another looser chain later underneath the current circle. Just measure out one side, cut it and cut an identical piece and attach them to the two jump hoops. I know I am not explaining much, but I hope its not rocket science for you!

Let me know how it goes!

DIY - Lip Scrub

Hey chickas and chickos,

Winter in texas suck believe it or not, and my lips are needing some TLC. No matter how much chap stick I put on, my lips still feel super chapped, and putting on lipstick used to not be an option for me.

However, I discovered the magic of a lip scrub and never will go back. I wanted to buy some from LUSH, because thats what all my friends where using but for $9.95 I wasn't willing to pay. Also, the main ingredients were sugar and oil and just a bunch of artificial CRAP that I just really don't need more of in my life. Click HERE to see the overpriced selections of lip scrub.

So my hardheaded self, like always decide to try to make some myself, and viola, I actually did it! So today, I wanted to share my easy lip scrub diy with you. One word of caution though, I honestly do not have official
measurements for each ingredient, I just combine everything until I get the results I want. Lets get started!

So this is what you are going to need:
  • White sugar
  • Olive oil (I'd use extra virgin/light if possible)
  • Honey
  • A small container. Mine is like REALLY small, its all I had, but you can use a little bigger one. Nothing bigger than a diameter of 2 inches.
  • The world's smallest spoon

Ok, so my container may be too small but I made it work. First step is to make sure your container is clean. I washed mine out cause I am reusing a container.

Ok, now come the ingredients. Since my container is tiny, I am going to describe the process according to my experience, but please translate it proportionally to the container you are using. So, first add a drop of honey. Honey is all natural, and has an amazing flavor, so your scrub will be enjoyable to use without having to add any nasty flavoring ingredients. Also, honey doesn't really expire so the scrub should last until it's gone. Just make sure you leave in room temperature.

Although honey is wonderful, its very sticky! So, using the spoon add an equal amount of olive oil to the mixture and mix. I had to use the other end of the spoon.

Viola! This is going to be the base of the scrub. Simple enough, right?

Time to add some sugar! I would only add a spoonful at a time, just so I can make sure I get the consistency I desire.

Mix until sugar is covered with honey oil mixture. If it is too dry, add more oil. Too sticky, add more oil and a bit of sugar. If to liquid-y, add sugar and a bit of honey. Mix until you get what you want. My finished project looked like this:

All natural, safe to eat (accidentally of course), and super sweet.
Now lets make sure you know to use this stuff. Time for super awkward photographs of myself.

Um...hi there. So I couldn't find a wash cloth so I had to use a napkin, but please, oh please, make sure your lips are very moist and wet before using your new scrub. If you try to use your scrub on dry lips, you could tear and rip your lips up and that kinda kills the purpose of the lip scrub, right? The last thing you want is bleeding lips, so please just do this step and don't sue me.

So just get a tiny bit, just to cover your finger tip. Actually, this may be too much in fact, but you get the idea.

So just do it! Put that stuff on your lips and pretend to brush your teeth....on your lips? Well what I mean by that is always use circular motions. If you don't use circular motions while brushing your teeth, you have been doing it wrong, just FYI. Don't be too rough, but don't be scared to really rub. If your lips are moist, they can take a lot. Wow, this sounds kinda wrong, but ONWARDS.

Yeah, thats right. You are looking totally sexy. You might wanna wash your hands after. After you think you had enough, rinse.

Afterwards, apply lip balm. Not the crappy $1 crap. The good stuff, something super moisturizing. If the dollar chapstick is all you have then, still use it. Your lips will need some. If you are planning to wear lip stick, pencil, or whatever, do the rest of your makeup first to allow your lips to rest. I know this sounds silly but just trust me; at least 15 minutes.

Woo! Congrats, you have not murdered your lips with your DIY scrub. Just kidding~
But, real talk, I love doing this to my lips. I feel like they look fuller too, but that's just my imagination talking.

I am kinda glad I used a super small container because its super portable. Although, maybe I shouldn't go through this process in public...

Let me know what you think!
